Lionel Richie says he is proud of his daughter Nicole Richie and her boyfriend Joel Madden for the birth of his granddaughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden. Lionel says he will have to get used to being called grand dad but is “extremely happy.”
“While it may take me a moment to adjust to being called grand dad, I am extremely happy and proud of Nicole and Joel,” he said in a statement. “Harlow Winter Kate Madden, the newest and most beautiful addition to the Richie clan, is a lucky little girl. She was surrounded by a great deal of love at that hospital as she entered the world.”
Nicole gave birth to Harlow on Friday. Joel commented that his daughter already “looks so much like her mom.”
“Nicole and Joel are going to be wonderful parents,” Lionel added.
