Former Little Rascal, Ernie Weckbaugh, Devotes His Life To Writing and Promoting “The Spirit of David”

Former child actor turns his creative talents to promoting uplifting short stories to benefit the underpriviledged.

Ernie Weckbaugh, formerly the Little Rascal known as Stinkey in the Hal Roach Our Gang movie series, is committing his time and energy to helping the disabled and disadvantaged by offering hope in the recent book, The Spirit of David. The book is a compilation of twenty-eight unforgettable stories about unlikely heroes who lift themselves through spirit and determination.

“This book is written for an underserved market—people with disadvantages seeking inspiration,” said Weckbaugh. “I was impressed by the perseverance shown in the stories in the book and resolved to inspire readers through the stories.”

The Spirit of David is authored and compiled by Weckbaugh. He undertook the project to honor his departed friend David Schumacher—a businessman, author, appraiser and real estate guru who was nearly blind from birth and totally blind by middle age. Weckbaugh noticed how Schumacher achieved extraordinary results in his life despite his disability. He figured Schumacher’s story, and others like his, could inspire others with disabilities. Proceeds from the book will go to various charities.

The Spirit of David is available on Amazon or in bookstores.
