Michele Rodriguez has been released from the Lynwood, California jail after only serving 17 days of her 180 day sentence. The ‘Lost’ star was sentenced to jail time after she violated her probation in a DUI case.
Rodriguez, 29, began serving the sentence on December 23. Authorities say the actress was released because of overcrowding. Lynwood officials say nonviolent female inmates can be released after serving at least 10 percent of their sentence.
Socialite Paris Hilton also served part of her sentence in a DUI case at Lynwood. Her early release was due to overcrowding.
“She was treated the same way we do with all females because of the extent of overcrowding,” said Sheriff Steve Whitmore.
