Britney Spears was released from the hospital last night, according to Dr. Phil McGraw. However, Entertainment Tonight and The Insider reported that she still needs to get psychological help.
Taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Thursday night following a three hour standoff, Spears was held on a 5150 hold, the doctors feared that she was a danger to herself and to others around her.
McGraw was quoted by the Associated Press saying “My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention.”
The Medical center provided no comment on Spears.
Los Angeles police were called to Spears’ residence Thursday night after the refused to hand over one of her two sons to her the bodyguard of her ex husband, Kevin Federline. While on the scene, officers determined that they needed to call the paramedics. There has been no explanation as to how they came to that conclusion.
An emergency hearing was held on Friday when a court commissioner gave sole physical and legal custody of the children to Kevin Federline. Spears’ right to visit her sons have been suspended. Prior to the incident Spears was allowed court-monitored visitation but frequently violated those rights. Another hearing is set for January 14.
