Jay Z Confronts the Rumors

Jay Z

During a radio show in London last night Jay Z finally responded to the rumors that he stopped Chris Brown from coming to the BET Awards and also his recent beef with The Game.

On Chris Brown’s apology
“We Are all flawed human beings. All a person can do is apologize. Everyone should be allowed to make mistakes. It happens”

On Blocking Chris Brown from Performing at the BET Awards
That’s the silliest rumor I’ve ever heard. First let me categorically deny that, that’s not even my style. If I have a problem with Chris brown, I have a problem with Chris Brown. I haven’t said anything live or behind the scenes. I don’t agree with what he did and that’s it. But as far as not letting him perform on BET, that’s ridiculous, that’s stupid and that’s a sucker move. I wouldn’t do it. And people commenting on rumors, that’s a sucker move.

On Mentioning The Game in a Diss Track
“Tell me exactly what I said….(Tim: you mentioned his name, Jim Jones’ name, Dame Dash’s name…) I said I’m not talking about, this, this. I’m not…Is that a diss? If I said I’m not talking about you? “Oh, you hurt my feelings”.? Tell groupie to get over it! If that’s a diss, then wear that. Tell groupie to get over it.”

I see a response from The Game in 3, 2, 1.

Jay Z Named in Reparations Lawsuit

The New York Observer is reporting that a Brooklyn activist has filed a $5 Billion dollar reparations lawsuit against Bruce Ratner, Barclays and Jay-Z. The suit claims that there should be a lien on their property and that the funds should go toward reparations.

The three defendants in the lawsuit are connected through an interest in the Atlantic Yards Project, taking place in Brooklyn. Ratner is planning to build 6,000 apartments and a new arena for the New Jersey Nets.

Campbell, in his lawsuit, claimed that Barclays and Jay-Z, working together, "profited from the African Slave Trade and continue to profit from these gains, through a conspiracy dating back hundreds of years and continue to date to oppress black people, enslave them, [and] unlawfully deport them to all corners of the Earth."

Campbell's group is called Da Black Defense League and they originally filed their suit back in October. Ratner's group has dismissed the lawsuit as being without merit.
